The hard chrome plated rod is a crucial component of hydraulic cylinders, connecting and transmitting power by relaying the motion of the piston to other components. Manufactured from high-quality steels — CK45 / C45E, AISI 1045, AISI 4140 / 42CrMo4 and 20MnV6 — it offers excellent strength and toughness, with a 20–30 µm hard chrome layer for wear and corrosion resistance and straightness held to ≤ 0.1 mm/m. Available quenched and tempered (QT, HB 240–320) and built to ISO 6020/2, it is widely used in hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for excavators, forklifts, cranes and agricultural machinery.
